There are no direct trains from India to Malaysia. One can travel through by train in Malaysia by taking the Keretapi Tanah Melayu, or KTM, a daily train service from Singapore and Thailand operated by the Malayan Railway. Any of India's major cities can be reached by direct flight, and from there, one can take a train to Singapore or Thailand. The Malaysia route on the train is stunning, and passengers can see some of the country's breathtaking vistas on their journey.

The intra-region rail transport in Malaysia is very thorough, with most states being covered in the Malaysian railway network. They are of three major types: heavy rail, light rail transit (LRT), and monorail. Generally, intercity passengers use heavy rail, whereas urban public transport passengers use LRTs.
