By Flight

The Gangtok Airport, known as Pakyong Airport makes it possible for travelling to Sikkim by flight. From the air terminal reach the cities by road. Bagdogra Airport is well-connected to major cities in India, providing easy connectivity in North East India, at a distance of 124 km. Airline companies like Indian Airlines, Spice Jet, and Go Air etc. are functional here with frequent services. 

You can further reach Gangtok by availing helicopter service, which is subjected to weather conditions. You can hire a taxi, Approximately 4 hours’ drive drive from Bagdogra.

By Train

Travel to Sikkim by train is possible by getting to major railway heads near Gangtok- New Jalpaiguri (188 km) and Siliguri (145 km). These railway stations are well connected with major cities and towns of India. Frequent trains connect the railway stations. You can further board a bus or hire a taxi to reach Sikkim.

By Road

Delhi to Sikkim by train

The two prominent railway stations near the main city, Gangtok are Siliguri (145 km) and New Jalpaiguri (NJP) (188 km). How to reach Sikkim from Darjeeling

Darjeeling to Sikkim by road: 

 If you are traveling to Sikkim from Darjeeling by road, you can choose a private or state-run bus, car, or taxi. The journey will take about 4-5 hours (126 km approx.) and the views on this journey is quite scenic. The Sikkim state registered vehicle will take you directly to Gangtok, rather than a Bengal state registered vehicle. You will be dropped off at Deorali from where you can reach Gangtok.

Road Conditions

Road conditions from Bagdogra to Sikkim are quite good and have a broad excellent flyover. From Darjeeling to Sikkim, several roads are bad with potholes in them and are not suitable for smaller cars. The overall road conditions in Sikkim are okay.
