Founded by Maharaja Suraj Mal in 1733, Bharatpur was once the capital of Jat Kingdom ruled by Sinsinwar Maharajas. Legend says that this land of Jats has its own significance and tells heroic tales of braveries against the attacks by Mughals

and the British. The region is quite famous for its forts and palaces, which exhibit a seamless blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The region is quite famous for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, which hosts a wide variety of avian population.
