Prior to the Sugauli Treaty of the British Raj, the areas of Kufri and Shimla were under the power of Nepal Kingdom. The regions were hidden from the world till 1819, until the British discovered it. Himalayan Wild Life Zoo in Kufri is located at a very high elevation where rare Antelopes, Birds and Felines find shelter. Himalayan Monal, the bird of Himachal Pradesh, is also one of the major attractions of the area. Therefore, through the potato plantations, a meandering path turns into a Ski track.
