Overlooking Dal Lake and nestled in the lap of the Zabarwan mountain range, Chashme Shahi is one of the Mughal Gardens built in 1632 AD. The top attraction of the garden is the natural spring that can captivate everyone. It is believed that the great female saint Rupa Bhawani was discovered this spring, named after her clan, Chashme Sahibi. However, later it was changed to Chashme Shahi. Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned the Mughal Garden for his elder son Dara Shikoh. The garden’s architectural style has Persian and Iranian influence, which is a visual retreat for the tourists.
