Punjab is well-connected to the rest of India by air, rail and road. The good transport facility in the state connects not only the cities of Punjab to each other but also connects it to neighboring states and cities. The various ways of reaching Punjab are mentioned below.

By Air

The major airports of Punjab are located in the cities of Amritsar, Ludhiana and Chandigarh. The airport in Amritsar is an international airport while the two other airports in Ludhiana and Chandigarh are domestic airports. The domestic airports are well-connected to the other major airports of the country.

By Rail

The major railway stations in Punjab are Ludhiana, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Amritsar and Jalandhar. These railway stations operate trains to all the major states of India.  

By Road

Punjab enjoys an extensive road network which enjoys connectivity to all the major cities and states of the country. National Highway 1 (NH 1), also known as the Grand Trunk Road, connects it to most of North and East India.  Several buses also ply between Punjab and the neighboring cities like Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.
