Ooty, the capital of Nilgiris district and the Queen of hill stations nestled in the beautiful Nilgiris Mountains is the land of picturesque picnic spots. The nearest airport from Ooty is the Coimbatore airport that is around 98 Kms away. This airport is connected to Chennai, Cochin, Mumbai and Bangalore by frequent flights. There are also frequent flights from Singapore, Sharjah and Colombo to Coimbatore airport. Getting down at the Coimbatore airport, you may board a bus or hire a cab to reach or can even enjoy toy train service from Mettupalayam to reach Ooty.

By Rail:

Ooty is well connected by the railway network. Ooty has a railway station of its own. The Udhagamandalam railway station can be easily reached by the Nilgiri Mountain Railway from Mettupalayam. The scenic beauty of the toy train attracts many tourists. So if you not time pushed then opt for toy trains, an important aspect of the whole Ooty vacation.

By Road:

Another amazing way of getting to Ooty is by opting for highway. Situated on the National Highway NH 67 it is connected by roads traversing through the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The roads are well managed but do bring adequate eatables and water as there are long stretches of highways where you won’t too many restaurants.
