Best Time to Visit Kuari Pass

April to mid-June is the best time to visit Kuari Pass. This pass is accessible for 10 months in a year except for July and August, when the region experiences moderate to heavy rainfall. This is the only trekkable pass in winter. In the summer months, the trekking trail is covered with lush green surroundings, which make the trek memorable. However, in the winter season, snow covered forest and grassland look ethereal, making forest walk turns magical.

Kuari Pass Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Haridwar Railway Station – Joshimath

On your arrival at Haridwar Railway Station, meet our trek tour guide and get transferred to Joshimath in a cab. On reaching Joshimath, check in at a hotel and stay overnight.

Day 2: Joshimath – Dhak Village (12 km drive) – Dhak – Gulling Campsite (6 km trek / 4 hours)

Today, check out from the hotel and travel to Dhak Village. On entering Dhak Village, indulge in a 6 km trek to Gulling Campsite, which takes 4 hours to reach. Stay overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Gulling campsite – Chitrakantha Winter Campsite via Bor Tal and Tali Top (9 km trek / 5 – 6 hours)

On day three of your Kuari Pass Winter Trek tour, continue your trek from Gulling campsite to Chitrakantha via Bor Tal and Tali Top. Overall, it is a 9 km trek, which takes 5- 6 hours to complete. Overnight stay at ChitrakanthaWinter campsite.

Day 4: Chitrakantha campsite – Kuari Pass Trek – Chitrakantha campsite (roughly 14 km trek / 9 hours)

Continue your trek from the Chitrakanthacampsite to Kuari Pass Trek. Enjoy the views of striking peaks such as Chaukhamba (7128 m), Nanda Devi (7817 m), Trishul (7120 m), and Kamet (7756 m). Now, trek back to the Chitrakatha campsite. In total, you cover 14 km in 8 – 9 hours. Overnight stay at Chitrakantha camp.

Day 5: Chitrakantha Campsite – Auli via Tali camp and Gorsen Bugyal (9 km trek / 4 – 5 hours)

Start your trek from Chitrakantha Campsite to Auli via Tali camp and Gorsen Bugyal, covering a 9 km trek in 4 – 5 hours. Thereafter, straight away travel from Auli to Joshimath. Night stay at Joshimath.

Day 6: Joshimath – Haridwar

On the sixth and the last day of your Kuari Pass Winter Trek tour, you will have an assisted transfer from Joshimath to Haridwar for your onward journey.
