Best Time to Visit Nanda Devi Base Camp

The best time to go for Nanda Devi Base Camp Trek is from May to June and September to October. It is the perfect time when the salubrious climatic conditions make the trek comfortable. In addition, the clear skies make the Himalayas distinctly visible. Also, the spring season is the perfect time to visit for the trek as the favorable weather enhances the charm of the region. However, the monsoon season should be avoided as the chances of landslides increase due to heavy rainfall.

Where is Nanda Devi Peak Located?

Nanda Devi Base Camp is situated in Nanda Devi Wildlife Sanctuary in the upper Himalayan region. Munsiyari is the base camp of the trek, which is well-connected with the major cities and towns of the country. Kathgodam railway station is the nearest railhead from Munsiyari, which is easily accessible by regular trains from the towns and states of India.

Nanda Devi Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Munsiyari (7513 ft.) – Lilam (6069 ft.)

On your arrival at Munsiyari, meet our trek tour guide and start your trek from Munsiyari (2290 m.) to Lilam (1850 m). Stay overnight at Lilam.

Day 2: Lilam (1890 m) – Bugdiyar (2500 m)

On day 2, from Lilam (1890 m), you trek to Bugdiyar (2500 m). Overnight stay is scheduled at Bugdiyar. 

Day 3: Bugdiyar (2500 m) – Martoli (3430 m) via Rilkot

Today, continue your trek from Bugdiyar (2500 m) to Martoli (3430 m) via Rilkot. Overnight stay at Rilkot.

Day 4:  Rest day and explore Martoli

On the 4th day of the trekking tour, you can explore Martoli. A night stay at Martoli.

Day 5: Martoli (3430 m.) – Patta (3650 m)

From Martoli, indulge in a trek to Patta (4300 m). Overnight stay at Patta.

Day 6: Patta (3650 m) – Bittalgwaar (4300 m) – Nanda Devi Base Camp via Narspanpati

On the 6th day of your Nanda Devi Trek tour, you trek from Patta (3650 m) to Bittalgwaar (4300 m). As soon as you reach Bittalgwaar, again start your trek to Nanda Devi base camp via Narspanpati. Enjoy some time at the base camp, adore the vast expanse of the place, and mighty attractive sister peaks, namely Nanda Devi and Nanda Devi East. Stay overnight in the camp.

Day 7: Nanda Devi Base Camp – Narspanpanti

Start your return trek from Nanda Devi Base Camp to Narspanpanti. A night stay at Narspanpanti. 

Day 8: Narspanpatti – Martoli

On day 9, from Narspanpati, you trek to Martoli. Overnight stay at Martoli.

Day 9:  Rest at Martoli

Today, you can relax and rest at Martoli. Overnight at Martoli.

Day 10: Martoli – Bughdiyar

On the 11th day, trek back from Martoli to Bugdiyar. Stay overnight at Bugdiyar.

Day 11: Bughdiyar – Munsiyari via Lilam

On the 12th and last day of your Nanda Devi Trek tour, continue the return trek from Bugdiyar to Munsiyari via Lilam for your onward journey.
