The plethora of tourists attractions are why India sees a surge in number of people visiting the country annually. Hills are among the top tourist attraction in India. Visit the foothills of Himalayas by planning for Himachal Pradesh. Darjeeling- Queen of Hills is a pleasure throughout the year. You vacation here to walk down the tea plantations renowned world over would be an interesting experience. You will find women reaping the tea plants during the day to be sent to the tea processing factories. The mystic hills remind you of Satyajit Ray’s famous film “Kanchenjunga”. Further, explore the place on horseback. From Darjeeling, you can move on to Sikkim enroute to Gangtok, Peling, Yumthung, and Gazing.

The cities of India also have several specialties. They stand as memoirs to the rich cultural heritage rather than beauty. Agra nevertheless tops the charts for being home to the world-famous relic of Taj Mahal. Built by Shah Jehan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal in the 16th century, the monument speaks immense about the architectural past of the country. Taj Mahal is situated in the heart of the Agra and brings in lakhs of tourist to India.

Move on to the state of Rajasthan to experience erstwhile majesty of the rajputs, once a princely state, Rajasthan relives its royal culture even today. The palaces, forts, museums, lakes, and havelis stand reminisce to the glory of the Indian dynasty. The king-size life is still experienced through the heritage hotels in Rajasthan. There are several tourist attractions in Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Mount Abu. The Baneshwar Fair, Pushkar Fair, and the Jaipur Literary Festival attract people from across the world. The climate of Rajasthan facilitates tourism both in the dry and cold months. January and February though have extreme temperatures and May-June is hot and humid. The place over the years has also become cultural suited to several high-profile weddings in the grand palaces.
