Kottancheri Hills is situated near the Talakaveri (the place that is considered to be the source of the river Kaveri and a holy place for many Hindus) in the Brahmagiri mountain range of Kodaku. Wildlife thrives in the Shola forests, grasslands, spice plantations, and monsoon forests. The hills merge with the forests of Kasaragod. The place is two hours journey from the Kasaragod district. The location is about 50 km away from Kasargod. By air, the Mangaluru International Airport is the closest (60 km).
Best Time to Visit
Time duration from December to February is the best time to visit. Accommodation is not a problem at all as privately owned hotels and resorts are located at various points, as one goes up to Kottancheri.
