When & Where to Visit in Valley of Flowers
Valley of Flowers in Summer – April till June
Summer marks the beginning of constant changes in Uttarakhand’s Valley of Flowers trek. As the sun stays etched to the sky for longer during this season, the snow starts to melt away and turns into streams and rivulets. During the months from April to June, the temperature stays between 15°C and 25°C.
If you love to explore and want to see the snowcapped peaks taking a new look, summer is an excellent time to visit the Valley of Flowers Uttarakhand. It would help if you kept in mind that the flowers are yet to bloom, and the national park is due to open in June. So you can plan a trip accordingly.
Valley of Flowers in Monsoon – July till August
This peak season is all about breathtaking views of the endemic Alpine flowers in full bloom, so the monsoon is the best time to visit the Valley of Flowers. The national park opens up from 1st June and is open till late October. The temperature ranges from 13°C to 20°C and gets better as June and July switch places. Moreover, this is also a good time for the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib Trek.
An ideal time to visit the national park is from mid-July to mid-August.
Valley of Flowers in Winter – October till March
As soon as October bids goodbye, the winter season comes in with its cold breeze. The national park is closed during this time of the year as the temperature experience an extreme low. Layers and layers of snow start to cover the botanic garden and paint a new canvas. Adventure enthusiasts can go trekking, hiking, and skiing during winter to nearby places.
