Elephant Safari in Bandhavgarh

Also known to be the ‘white tiger country’, Bandhavgarh National Park is famous for being home to a  decent population of tigers in India. Bandhavgarh is located in Umari district of Madhya Pradesh. The place is also famous for Elephant Safari, which attracts tourists from all parts of the world. There are two main options for Elephant Safari in Bandhavgarh National Park.

In the same manner like other National Parks, visitors have to make bookings 7-8 hours before the elephant ride and pay for the particular duration of time for like 1-2 hours. Rides are given twice a day, in morning after 4am and around 2:30pm in afternoon. During the ride you can enjoy the dense forests and different species of flora and fauna. Therefore, it is the best way to explore the jungle.

The second method, known as ‘tiger shows’, is slightly different. In this case, mahouts enter the jungle in the early morning hours for tiger spotting. Once they are able to spot the big cat, settled at a particular spot, they send the information to the concerned person. Thereafter, the visitors are brought inside the national park through the nearest entry point. Similar to above, rides are given twice a day, in morning after 4am and around 2:30pm in afternoon. The duration of the ride is 1-2 hours.
