India Trekking Tour – Sites to Visit

India boasts of a number of mountain ranges that are ideal sites for India trekking tour. The Karakorams, Indian Himalayas, Kumaon regions, and Garhwal regions are few of them. You will find thousands of tourists flocking to these destinations every year. Let us delve deeper into the details of the trekking sites in India.

India Trekking Tour – Sites to Visit

Trekking in Himachal Pradesh requires you to be equipped with woolen clothes as most of the trek tours are conducted in areas which are cold throughout the year. Not all mountain ranges are difficult to tread. The best time to plan a trekking tour is between June and October. Areas where you can trek to are Indrahar Pass, Dalhousie Manali, Jagatsukh To Deo Tibba, Dharamsala Nayagroeon.

The best time for trekking in Jammu and Kashmir is during the months of July through September. In Jammu you can try trekking routes in Kishtwar and Bhadarwar areas.

Trekking in Garhwal offers opportunities to tourists to travel through hard as well as soft trek routes.  Trek routes you can take are Dodi Tal, Har Ki Dun, Kuari Pass, Valley of Flower, Auden’s Col, Nanda Devi, Gangotri Kedarnath, and Kalindikhal Pass.

Trekking in Sikkim can be an unforgettable experience. Trek routes you can opt for are Green Lake, Yuksom to Dzongri, Singalila Ridge, The Goecha La, Ramman Bijanbari, and Kanchenjungha and Sikkim (20d).

Kumaon is the main base forIndia trekking tour in Uttaranchal. For trekking in Uttaranchal, the best trekking period is between April and June and September and November. However, you can plan a trekking trip round the year. Trek routes in Kumaon are Kafini Glacier, Milam Glacier, Adi Kailash, Sunderdhonga Base Camp, and Namik Glacier.

Trek routes mentioned above range between easy, moderate to tough trek routes.

Trekking equipments usually include fleece jacket, walking stick, sleeping bag, waterproof trousers, cap, gloves, water bottle, sun lotion, hiking shoes, backpack, electric torch, sweater, and sunglasses. In addition to carrying these, you will also be required to pay heed to certain aspects that can help you in taking your trekking tours in India to completion successfully.

Make sure you don’t litter the campsite, don’t burn wood, keep in mind etiquette of local people, burn dry paper instead of wood in case you want fire, find out if you are allowed to take photographs, don’t pollute rivers and water bodies. Avoid causing damage to flora and fauna.
