Jungle Camps – Discover Biodiversity at its Best

The concept of eco tourism in India has gained immense prominence over the years. Jungle camps, jungle lodges, and nature camps arranged by wildlife conservation organizations and resorts are growing in number with the hope of bringing more awareness among the common man. All efforts are being made to preserve India’s natural heritage and promote eco tourism in the country.

Chitwan National Park, Corbett National Park, Yeoor National Park, Bandipur Forest, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Kanha National Park, Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, and Eravikulam National Park are few of the jungle camp destinations in India. You can also undertake trips to few Bird Sanctuaries, the popular ones being Kuwarkom Bird Sanctuary and Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary.

Jungle Camps - Discover Biodiversity at its Best

If you are planning a trip to any of the national parks, there are several hotels and resorts located nearby. For instance, if you intend to tour around the Corbett National Park, you can book one of the Corbett hotel packages. Names of few hotels offering packages in Corbett are Manu Maharani Resort (package duration – 2 nights and 3 days, meals and accommodation included as per itinerary), Quality Inn The Den (package duration 2 nights and 3 days, welcome drink, buffet meals, recreational activities).  Another jungle camp in Corbett can be enjoyed at Jungle Brook Camps and Resort. The duration of the package is 2 nights and 3 days. Accommodation is on twin sharing basis. Accommodation can be arranged in cottages or tents.

Irrespective of whether you are opting for Corbett winter packages or Corbett jungle camps any other time of the year, there are few important points that you need to keep in mind. Avoid dirtying the place with polythene bags, beverage cans, candy wraps, cigarette stubs, and empty bottles. Also remember that you are camping in a protected area, which is home to innumerable species of flora and fauna. So, make sure you don’t upset their routine.

Find out if you are allowed to click photographs and shoot videos. Picking flowers and destroying flora is not desirable. Taking wood from forest and lighting campfires is strictly prohibited. Alcohol consumption is restricted and if you want to listen to radio or music system, hearing it in low volume will not disturb the animals in the jungle. Most importantly, your campsite or jungle camps ought to be at a distance of 30m from the water body from where animals come to drink water. You can make your experience at jungle camps an unforgettable one if you follow the rules of jungles.

Most of the jungle camps are arranged as part of resort and hotel packages. You can check out the Jim Corbett hotel packages
