Kerala is well known for its spice gardens and tea plantations. God’s Own Country has a rich culture of spice, tea, herbs, coffee, and rubber. These spice farms in Kerala are attractive tourist stops. The green terraced farms of Thekkady are home to a lush panorama of spice plantations and tea gardens. Various kinds of spices are cultivated on the blessed slopes of the Western Ghats. With a stop at these estates, tourists can enjoy nature-blessed environs, a traditional lifestyle, and the working of such farms.

Kumily, a short distance from the Periyar Tiger Reserve, is one of the best places to enjoy the spice garden and tea plantations. Kerala is the spice capital of the world, and Kumily is its most important hub. Over twelve spices, including ginger, garlic, cardamom, vanilla, pepper, cinnamon, coffee, tea, clove, and nutmeg, are cultivated here. First, enjoy a guided tour of the slopes. Then, visit the factories to learn more about spices and tea. Though Munnar is more famous for tea, guided tours of factories are not provided.
