Hills and plateaus cover most of Odisha’s landscape. These rocky plateaus are the origin of the various main rivers of Odisha, giving way to river valleys and grand waterfalls. One of the best features of the waterfalls of this eastern state is that they are enveloped by thick forests, offering stunning scenery. If we do not count the small ones fed by rain, Odisha has about 13 main waterfalls. The height of these falls is between 30 m and 250 m.
The highest waterfall is Badheipani Waterfall, which falls from a height of 399 m, succeeded by Khandadhar Falls. Many Odisha rivers have waterfalls at their originating point or over the mountain bed.
