Introduction

Haldwani is situated in the Nainital district of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state. Sited at an elevation of 425 m above the sea level, the town is located in the foothills of Himalayas. The location of the piedmont grade known as the Bhabhar region of the Indo-Gangetic plains, it is the place where mountain rivers go underground and re-merge in plains making it the most fertile lands in the county. The town is popularly known as the Gateway of Kumaon' sharing its twin township with Kathgodam.

The land of Nanda Devi, the Goddess of Bliss, Haldwani gets its name from the tree ‘Haldu’ found in this area. The lush green beauty makes visitors forget their worries for a while. Scenic views, charming dawns and dusk, peaceful ambiance together combines an experience not forgotten easily.
