7-Day Photography Journey
Day 1 – Delhi Arrival
Start your 7-day Golden Triangle photography journey from Delhi. Upon arrival, check into your hotel, freshen up, and enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out for sightseeing.
Begin your day with a visit to the iconic India Gate early in the morning. It’s a great time for photography as the place isn’t too crowded. Capture stunning shots without any hassle.
The peaceful atmosphere in the morning makes for beautiful frames. Right next to it is the Mughal Garden, a paradise for photographers.
As a photographer, can you imagine visiting a garden without being mesmerised by its beauty? Probably not! You can take plenty of photos here. Don’t forget Rajpath, which offers more picturesque scenes to capture.
The area is so beautiful that you’ll likely spend half your day here.
After having lunch, head out for the afternoon sightseeing.
- Visit Red Fort and explore its grandeur.
- Nearby attractions include the magnificent Jama Masjid.
- If time permits, you can also visit the serene Laxmi Narayan Temple.
These spots are fantastic for photography enthusiasts.
In the evening, don’t miss the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk. It’s perfect for capturing vibrant street life and doing some shopping. From traditional clothes to delicious street food, almost everything is available here.
As you wander through the narrow lanes, you’ll feel like each street tells an ancient story. Be sure to capture this charming atmosphere through your lens.
End your day with dinner at your hotel and get a good night’s sleep, ready for the next day’s sightseeing adventure.
Day 2: Exploring Delhi and Heading to Agra
Wake up early, have your breakfast, and check out of the hotel because you’ll be leaving for Agra in the evening.
After breakfast, head straight to Qutub Minar— do you know it’s the tallest brick minaret in the world?
Click some amazing photos there.
Next, you can visit the Kalka Devi Temple, and right nearby is the Lotus Temple, which is also worth a visit. The lush gardens surrounding the temple offer great opportunities for photography.
If you’re a wildlife lover, head to Delhi Zoo, but make sure to have lunch first, as the zoo is so vast it will easily take half a day to explore. Capture photos of animals like tigers, monkeys, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and various types of deer wandering around the zoo.
The monkeys, in particular, seem to be waiting just for you, striking poses as if they’re ready for a photoshoot!
After thoroughly exploring the zoo, if time permits, visit the Akshardham Temple and don’t miss the light and sound show there. The only drawback is that photography isn’t allowed.
Afterwards, it’s time to head towards Agra, which is about a 2 to 3-hour drive.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel, have dinner, and get a good night’s sleep — you’ll need to rise early for the next day’s adventures!
Day 3: Agra Sightseeing
Good morning! Hurry up with your breakfast; it’s your third day of the photography tour.
Skip Breakfast if You Can—Here’s Why:
Your first stop today is the iconic Taj Mahal. Visiting it early in the morning is magical—the monument looks stunning in the morning light. It’s the perfect time to capture breathtaking shots.
You can always have breakfast later, but this golden moment won’t come again. So, head there early to catch the mesmerising sunrise view over the Taj. The Yamuna River flowing behind it provides endless photo opportunities.
Next, head to Mehtab Bagh, where you can take creative shots from different angles with the Taj Mahal in the backdrop.
Feeling hungry now? Alright, grab a quick breakfast nearby.
After breakfast, visit Agra Fort, located a short distance away. If you’re a history enthusiast, this is a must-visit. Capturing history through your camera lens is an experience in itself.
From the top of the fort, you’ll get a fantastic backdrop view of the Taj Mahal—this location is one of my favourites for photography.
Exploring the fort takes around 2-3 hours, so remember to carry a water bottle. Don’t miss spots like Jahangir Palace and Khas Mahal for some fantastic shots.
Feeling tired? Take a short rest inside the fort and then have your lunch.
How’s your Golden Triangle photography tour going? Enjoying it? Great!
After lunch, visit Itimad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb, which Noor Jahan built for her parents. It’s also known as the Baby Taj, so imagine how beautiful it must be. There are plenty of great photo opportunities here.
You can also explore the Jama Masjid, Chini ka Rauza, and the Taj Museum if you have time.
It’s time to leave for Jaipur, which takes around 5 hours. Have dinner on the way and make sure to stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a fascinating historical site.
Upon reaching Jaipur, check into your hotel, freshen up, and get some rest.
That wraps up Day 3 of your Golden Triangle Photography Tour!
Day 4: Jaipur Sightseeing
Let me give you a great tip — can you skip breakfast once again if you’re up for it?
Just wake up a little early and head toward Nahargarh Fort. Trust me, this experience will stay with you forever. Watching the entire city from Nahargarh Fort in the early morning is an entirely different vibe.
Witnessing the sunrise from there and capturing it with your camera is a unique experience that can only be enjoyed in the morning. That’s why I’m suggesting you skip breakfast.
From the top, you can click amazing photos with the entire city as your stunning backdrop. It’ll feel like the city is beneath your feet.
After wrapping up your morning photography session, there’s a restaurant inside the fort where you can have breakfast. Once you’ve eaten, take your time to explore the entire fort.
Nahargarh Fort has the famous Sheesh Mahal, which you can explore. There’s also a Wax Museum if you’re interested. After that, head towards Jaigarh Fort, where you’ll find the iconic Jaivana Cannon. Don’t forget to capture it with your camera.
Did you know it’s the world’s largest cannon on wheels? Probably not, right? That’s why I suggested clicking a picture with it to connect with history.
Exploring the fort is up to you.
From there, move towards Jal Mahal, which is situated right in the middle of the lake. A market surrounds the lake, where you can shop. Don’t forget to click pictures with the palace in the background from the lakeside. Then find a nearby restaurant for lunch and take a short rest.
Afterwards, head to Amer Fort, where you’ll spend the rest of the day. Enjoy camel rides, click photos, or even try an elephant ride. In the evening, there’s the Light and Sound Show that you absolutely shouldn’t miss.
After the show, return to your hotel and have dinner.
This is how your fourth day of your Golden Triangle photography tour comes to an end.
Day 5: Jaipur Exploration
Start your day with a hearty breakfast and get ready for sightseeing. The first place you must visit is Hawa Mahal.
Did you know that it’s the tallest building in the world without a foundation? Surprising, right?
Hawa Mahal’s architecture resembles Lord Krishna‘s crown when viewed from the outside. It has 953 small windows, which royal women used to observe the outside world without being noticed.
Exploring this marvel might take around 1-2 hours. Don’t forget to take a photo from the front, even though it’s actually the back of the structure.
Next, head to Jantar Mantar, where you’ll discover how ancient India studied time and space. There are several instruments here, and you can take pictures with them. The Samrat Yantra is the most famous, so be sure to capture some great photos!
Now have your lunch. After lunch, take a short rest and then walk to the City Palace. The palace is usually crowded, so be patient. If you have a reservation, that’s great because you’ll get direct entry without needing to stand in line for tickets.
The palace complex consists of several buildings, gardens, and courtyards, offering a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the rulers and queens of the Mewar dynasty.
Explore the City Palace thoroughly and take many photographs here.
Right next to it is the Govind Ji Temple, where you can pay your respects. After that, visit the Isarlat Sargasooli Tower and enjoy the stunning views from the top.
With this, your day will be complete. Then head back to your hotel, have dinner, and sleep peacefully under the covers.
Day 6: Jaipur Markets Exploration
If you’ve come to Jaipur, not visiting the markets is almost impossible because the products here are famous worldwide—whether it’s Mojari footwear, jewellery, or handicrafts.
So, dedicate today to exploring Jaipur’s markets.
First, go to Maharani Bazaar near City Palace. Don’t forget to buy souvenirs there and observe how the vendors sell their products—you might even want to capture some moments with your camera.
Next, if you’ve come with a partner, visit Johri Bazaar. Even if you’re not with a partner, consider buying beautiful jewellery for your mother or partner. The Meenakari jewellery here is particularly famous. The entire market is beautifully decorated, and the sight of vendors selling jewellery will compel you to take photos.
Make sure to capture the vibrant atmosphere. Once you step into this market, half your day will pass by exploring it. Don’t leave without trying the delicious street food, especially Dal Baati.
After exploring this market, sit at a restaurant for a proper Rajasthani lunch, and then get ready to explore the next market.
Next, you can visit Bapu Bazaar or Chandpol Bazaar. At Bapu Bazaar, you can buy leather products and Jaipur textiles—don’t forget to take something for your father. After shopping, head towards Sisodia Rani ka Bagh and explore every corner while clicking many photos.
Maharaja Sawai Singh built this garden for his queen so she could spend time there with her friends during the summer.
If you have time, visit Ram Niwas Garden and don’t miss the Albert Hall Museum. Its Indo-Saracenic architecture will mesmerise you, so capture some stunning photos there.
End your day with dinner at Chokhi Dhani Village, which will give you a true introduction to Rajasthani culture. Explore the entire village, as there are plenty of picturesque spots for photography. Capture lots of photos to boost your social media game.
After this amazing experience, head back to your hotel and rest well.
Day 7: Departure Jaipur
Today is your departure day from Jaipur, but you will explore some more places here before leaving. So have your breakfast and check out from the hotel.
First, visit Birla Temple, which is famous for its intricate carvings and beautiful white marble structure. Its white architecture compels you to take photos. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, so seek blessings from him.
Next, head to Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan, which is famous for its architecture and carvings. It is the cremation ground for Kachwaha, a Rajput dynasty. Make sure to capture photos of all the monuments with your camera. The surroundings of Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan are amazing, so you can sit there and relax.
For lunch, visit Masala Chowk, an open-air food court that offers 21 flavours of the Pink City under one roof. After that, depart for Delhi, and you will reach Delhi by the end of the day. From there, you can go to your destination.
This is how your Golden Triangle photography tour comes to an end.
