Tryst with the North Indian Deities!

When you are finalizing a North India travel package it is a good idea to include the popular temples in the region. This region is a well known pilgrimage hub where the followers of Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism visit every year.

The structure and the layout of the North Indian Temples are built in the traditional Nagara architecture. The sanctuary of the temple is the most important part and is known as the Vimana. Similarly, there are other specifications as well, that you will discover on your trip.

North Indian Temple tours are not only famous amidst the senior citizens but also the youth. This is owing to the prominence of the new age and spiritual studies. Whilst on your trip the north India temple architecture is something to watch out for. Each monument would have their own intrinsic features. The sanctum sanatorium is known as Garbhagriha. This is where the main deity of temple is kept.

There are often a flight of stairs that leads to the temple. Other features would include a porch towards the entrance and the carved pillars. The roof atop the Garbhagriha is known as the Shikhara, meaning the roof. Few North Indian Temples initially were small shrines which later got developed into complex structures. There are holy shrines having a mandap or the hall that leads you to the sanctum sanctorum.

A standard north India temple travel package tour would last for nine to ten days. Sometimes you can even extend few days more than that as per your requirement. The major destinations covered are Delhi, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Varanasi, Agra, and Mathura.

As you explore the temples and their intricate structures, you will notice religious folklore and tales being scripted on the walls in the form of carvings. Some temples even have their Vedic slokas imprinted on the walls.
