Maharana Ammar Singh of Sisodia Rajputs originally developed Mewar’s Jag Mandir Palace. Maharana Karan Singh and Maharana Jagat Singh further developed Jag Mandir Palace. Because Maharana Jagat Singh was the last king to build the palace, the temple was named Jag Mandir in his honour.

The Jagmandir is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is advisable to visit early in the morning to avoid the harsh heat.
