History of Mandore Garden

Mandore was once the capital of the Rajputana Kingdom. In 1427, Mandore was ruled by Rao Rinmal Rathore. In addition, he served as the administrator of the Mewar kingdom until 1438. The Mewar ruler Rana Khumba overtook the throne of Mandore by assassinating Rao Nirmal.

Following the assassination of Rao Rinmal, his son Rao Jodha tried to recapture Mandore but was unsuccessful. However, Rao Jodha again captured Mandore in 1453. This Garden was not built by a single person. Various rulers of Jodhpur have built it over the years.

Natural charm makes the garden truly alluring. There are a number of temples, lawns, galleries, and high rock terraces in the garden, which is incredibly beautiful.
