Dedicated to Lord Krishna, Govind Deviji temple is the oldest of the religious sites in Samode village in Rajasthan. It is believed that the sacred place was constructed long time back in 534 AD. Based on the divine harmony of Lord Krishna and Radha, Govind Deviji temple is one of the most prominent religious sites in Samode.
The construction of the sacred temple was done on a raised platform. To make it easy for the devotees, a flight of stairs was constructed to lead to the entrance. Right at the entrance, a pillared hall with doors at four sides welcomes the visitors. Interesting to find that the Govind Deviji temple in Samode houses embellished frescoes and a beautifully carved idol of Lord Krishna and Radha together.
