Popular for Tantrik Kriyas, Kala Gaura Bhairav Temple in Sawai Madhopur is located on a hill-top and lies in the city-center. It is believed that whoever visits this temple get his/her wish fulfilled. The temple is dedicated to Bhairav brothers; Gaura Bhairav and Kala Bhairav. Other than the deity of main lord, there are idols of Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha installed inside.
One unique thing about the temple is that the main deity is installed at the entrance, unlike other Hindu temples, which have the main deity installed inside. It is said that King Hammir visited the temple and wished victory in his war with Alaud-din-Khilji. He said that he would devote everything to the lord, if he wins, and he did.
