Famous Temples in Jaisalmer

Lodurva Temple

On the outskirts of Jaisalmer, the city of Lodurva serves as an important Jain pilgrimage center. The town of Lodurva was home to several Jain temples, mainly while it served as the Bhatti Rajput’s capital. However, these Jain temples’ remains may now be seen, making the city one of Rajasthan’s greatest tourist destinations.

Laxminath Temple

In addition to its spiritual and theological significance, this Hindu temple is a breathtaking historical landmark in Jaisalmer. The temple, built in 1494, is devoted to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. One of the best features of this temple is its setting; it is a part of the well-known Jaisalmer Fort, perched on a hill overlooking the city.

Ramdev Temple

This temple was established in honor of a Rajput saint, Ramdev. The Indian state of Rajasthan is thought to be home to a sizable number of devotees of the Rajput saint. Ramdev is renowned for his work with Rajasthan’s lower and marginalized groups to improve their lot in life. Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner erected the temple at the saint’s final resting place in 1931.

Chandraprabhu Temple

The construction of this temple goes back to the 15rh and 16th centuries – it was the first of the 7 temples created during that period. This temple, built in honor of the 8th Jain Tirthankara, Chandraprabhu, is a beautiful tourist destination. This temple, built in the Golden Fort, attracts visitors annually.

Tanot Mata Temple

The Tanot Mata Temple is located approximately 78 kilometers from Jaisalmer. This temple is highly famous in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Additionally, it is thought that this temple was nearby when the 1965 occurrence of war between India and Pakistan took place.

The mysterious feature of this temple is that, even though everything around it was destroyed by the approximately 3,000 missiles that Pakistan unleashed, the temple itself was undamaged. This location around this temple was used in the Bollywood film Border.
