Patna Travel Guide

Settled on the banks of River Ganga, Patna is the most important places of interest to visit in Bihar. The city mainly boasts of a number of historical monuments depicting the history of the state, making it a great place for history buffs; and in addition to it, there are several sanctified spots and Buddhist relics alluring travelers from all parts of India and across the globe.

Some of the major attractions in Patna are Maner Sharif, a historical site that houses two tombs, Shah Daulat and Makhdoom Yahya Maneri; Takht SriPatna Sahib, a holy place for Sikhs put up by Maharaja Ranjit Singh; Patthar ki Masjid, a mosque wholly constructed of stones and Mahavir Mandir, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the temple was built in 1730 AD by Swami Balanandb. Other important tourist spots in Patna include Gandhi Ghat, Patan Devi, Eco Park, Agam Kuan and Phulwari sharif.  Golghar and Patna Planetarium are two other important attractions here.

Not to forget the unique buys of the city including Madhubani paintings (or Mithil paintings), Tikulis (Bindis), Khari Mica paintings, Pattharkatti stone-craft, historical mementos and Khatwa appliqué work.
