A popular hill station of India, Ooty has a blooming tourism scenario. Apart from scenic beauty there are several activities to try in Ooty; whether you are an adventure-seeker or love to sit back and relax, there are different options to choose from. The best way to get closer to Ooty’s scenic beauty is through Nilgiri Mountain Railway, which also has been listed as a World Heritage Site.

This meandering train offers a splendid view of the mountain and stops at thirteen stations, starting from Coimbatore to Ooty (Udhagamandalam). Golf lovers must not miss the Ooty Golf  Course, which is set at an altitude of 7200 feet and covers an area of 193 hectares. This is an 18-hole Golf Course surrounded by lush forests and offer comfortable accommodation too. Other than golfing, there are indoor games like billiards, cards and table tennis.

Pilgrims can visit Murugan Temple in Elk Hill, dedicated to Lord Muruga, mainly popular for Thaipusam Festival. Another popular pilgrimage spot in Ooty is Annamalai Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Shiva Lingam is the main sanctum of the temple.  This is one of the largest temple complexes of India and sprawls over an area of ten hectares. Other than this, There are many activities to try around Kamaraj Sagar Dam, a popular picnic and film-shooting spot on the slopes of Wenlock Downs.
