Introduction

Mountainous terrain, dwindling village settlements, dangerous jutting out passes as you reach the upper Himalayas, is the typical topography of Uttarakhand. Beyond the brooding cliffs and the open scrubland, the terrain is frozen and covered with snow. In this pristine setting lies some of the most venerated pilgrims spots of India. For trekkers, Uttarakhand is a storehouse of glacial passes, rugged terrain and exotic barren mountains which tempt them again and again to quench their thirst for more adventure.

Tour to Gupt Kashi is a fascinating journey in all possible ways. Despite its remote location and wild topography, pilgrims throng this area in hordes.

Moreover its remoteness hasn't been able to act as a deterrent factor for the many tourist lodges that have sprung up here, to house the weary travelers.

This quaint town located en route to Kedarnath, is situated at an elevation of 1319 meters. Acting as a stop gap halt to Gaurikund and Rudraprayag, this windswept mountain has a number of famous temples. One can see the outline of the Chowkhamba Mountain standing tall in the backdrop of the temples.

If you are planning a Tour to Guptkashi, make sure you carry a pair of sturdy shoes and woolen clothes. Gloves are a must. If you want your lenses to do the talking, then invest in a good mega pixel camera to capture the beauty of the surrounding terrain.

The old Vishwanath temple and the Ardhanareswar temple lies in close proximity to the bus stand. A few kilometers away is the confluence of Ganga and Yamuna, which again provides a spectacular sight.

If you have a will to go and a heart crying out for more adventure, then a Tour to Gupt Kashi is not a difficult fare. Nearest airport is Jollygrant. One can also board buses and taxis from Rishikesh, Dehradun and Haridwar.
