take a train from NDLS to New jalpaiguri Station. Frm NJP railway station just goto the SNT (sikkim National Terminus ) bus stand, from there you wud get bus directly to sikkim. You can stay in Tadong which may be cheaper but staying at MG road is a delight. You can get cheaper hotels there.
