Tourist places in and Around Kufri
Around 13 km from Shimla, Kufri Zoo is home to various rare specials of animals and birds such as Felines, Antelopes, and Himalayan Monal. In the winter season, the pathway amid the potato plantation gets covered with snow and becomes a skiing track.
Located at an altitude of 2509 m above sea level, at around 6 km from Kufri, Fagu lies amid two valleys, enveloped with apple orchards and forests. Overlooking the Giri valley, there is a tourist bungalow. This village is ideal for enjoying a picnic with loved ones in the summer season. There is snow all around in the winter season, and the place is covered with a sheet of snow. Every year in February, Fagu becomes the venue of the winter ski fest.
Himalayan National Park
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Himachal Pradesh, the Himalayan National Park is an eco-tourism as well as a biodiversity hub. The park has been named after Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India, who visited the region in 1972 at the time of the signing of the Shimla Agreement between India and Pakistan.
The park also has an ice-cream parlor, a beer bar, and a Lalit café run by HPTDC. Visitors can partake in pony rides, yak rides, and getting clicked in traditional Himachali dress. The park can be visited on any day of the week, between 9 AM to 6 PM. The entry fee for adults is INR10, and for children is INR 5.
