Kufri Zoo

Around 13 km from Shimla, Kufri Zoo is home to various rare specials of animals and birds such as Felines, Antelopes, and Himalayan Monal. In the winter season, the pathway amid the potato plantation gets covered with snow and becomes a skiing track.


Located at an altitude of 2509 m above sea level, at around 6 km from Kufri, Fagu lies amid two valleys, enveloped with apple orchards and forests. Overlooking the Giri valley, there is a tourist bungalow. This village is ideal for enjoying a picnic with loved ones in the summer season. There is snow all around in the winter season, and the place is covered with a sheet of snow. Every year in February, Fagu becomes the venue of the winter ski fest.

Himalayan National Park

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Himachal Pradesh, the Himalayan National Park is an eco-tourism as well as a biodiversity hub. It is home to around 120 avifauna species and rare mammals. Animal lovers can spot snow leopards, musk deer, and other rare species of animals as well as plants.

One of the best ways to explore the park is to opt for 5 to 8 days of trekking, managed by the park rangers at Sai Ropa Tourist Center. Close to the national park, several temples can be visited. However, visiting the temples is only possible during the summer and the fall months.

Mahasu Peak

The highest point in Kufri, Mahasu Peak, is that site from where you can enjoy a clear view of Kedarnath and Badrinath. To reach the top of the peak, hiking is one of the best things to do in Kufri. Trek up for a short while, walking past the wooded cedar forests of the Himalayas to arrive at the top.

While in the summer season, one can enjoy hiking and trekking, it becomes an excellent spot for skiing enthusiasts who are beginners in the winter. Moreover, it is easy to make a pit shop at the Nag Devta temple while going up.

Indira Tourist Park

Located close to the famous Himalayan Nature Park, the Indira Tourist Park is known for offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The park has been named after Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India, who visited the region in 1972 at the time of the signing of the Shimla Agreement between India and Pakistan.

The park also has an ice-cream parlor, a beer bar, and a Lalit café run by HPTDC. Visitors can partake in pony rides, yak rides, and getting clicked in traditional Himachali dress. The park can be visited on any day of the week, between 9 AM to 6 PM. The entry fee for adults is INR10, and for children is INR 5.

Kufri Fun World

Also known as Adventure Resort (New Kufri), Kufri Fun World is the best place to be if you are with your family and friends. The amusement park has different entertainments and rides for kids and adults. Visitors can enjoy go-karting, 5D Cinema, Haunted house, Bunjee trempoline, wave train, smash car, Zipline, and other attractions. There is a restaurant and shopping center too. You can also get dressed in traditional Himachali attire and get yourself photographed here.

Bhima Kali Mata Temple

Placed on the main road towards Kufri, Bhima Kali Mata temple is quite famous among tourists and locals. The temple premises also has a sacred pond called Kupher.

The nearest railway station to Kufri is in Shimla on a narrow-gauge rail route, and the broad gauge railway station is in Kalka, around 100 km away. This railway station is well-connected to all the important cities of India. From the station, one can hire a taxi to arrive at Kufri.
