Positioned at a height of about 1118 meters above sea level, it incidentally is the only hill resort in the Vidarbha region, the only coffee growing area in Maharashtra and the locale of the well known Chikhaladara Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Chikhaladara Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Amravati district of Vidarbha region. The best time to visit the Chikhaladara Wildlife Sanctuary is between the months of October and June. The rainy season is not conducive for a trip.
