An important Buddhist pilgrimage site in Manali, the Manali Gompa is located in the heart of the hill station. It is primarily known as “Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa”. Since its construction in 1960, it has given refuge to a large number of people, who have come from Tibet. Manali Gompa is the finest example of Buddhist monasteries in Manali, the Manali Gompa sports a pagoda- style architecture with a classic tiered tower at the top.
Its always pleasing to visit the monastery as it is situated amidst the lush green natural surroundings of Manali. Besides its pristine location, the monastery is famous for its wall paintings, Chortens and a large statue of Lord Buddha.
