Spread over 55 acres, it is an essential part of the Nagarhole National Park, Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary includes dense forests, lakes, steep valleys and streams. A number of herbivores, especially elephants or Asian elephants dwell in their natural habitat at Kabini Forest Reserve. Considered as an ornithologist’s paradise, the park is famed for housing a number of species of birds as well.
Earlier, Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary was an exclusive hunting ground for the kings of Mysore. One of the major attractions and a best way to explore the wildlife sanctuary is via Jungle Safari. While wandering in the park, one can spot critically endangered oriental white-backed vulture and other animals like eagle and the Nilgiri wood pigeon.
