Yoga Niketan was founded by Swami Yogeshwaranand Paramahans, the only Indian, who was granted Honorary Presidentship of International League of Yoga by UNESCO. The ashram has comfortable rooms and arranges meditation sessions and hath yoga classes. The library has a vast collection of books meant to provide knowledge about yoga and god. Daily lectures aim at further polishing of knowledge. These services are available for students of the ashram only. Minimum stay in the ashram should be of 15 days.
Saying Swami Yogeshwaranand is a master in yoga would be an understatement, as he is skilled enough to stop his heart and restart it when he wishes to. This act was performed by him in Japan, under supervision of medical fraternity who confirmed that all his organs stopped. Yoga is not merely about staying fit and in shape, as it is considered to be in most western countries. Yoga leads to equilibrium of mind, body and soul. And one can learn and practice Yoga in this ashram like never before.
