Satpura National Park located in Madhya Pradesh covers an area of 524 km2 and witnesses thousands of visitors every year from all around the world. The park is the first national park which offers a full safari experience all over in India.



How to reach Satpura National Park

By Air

There are two airports, nearest to Satpura National Park. One is Bhopal airport (220kms) and the second one is Jabalpur Airport (260kms).

Both the airports have direct flight connectivity with metros-Delhi and Mumbai. This route is actively used by tourists.

By Rail

By train, there are many ways to reach Satpura National Park. Railway stations which are nearby the park are Sohagpur (18kms), Hoshangabad (45kms), Itarsi (65kms) and Pipariya (40kms).

The place is on the Howrah-Mumbai rail-track.

By Road

Satpura National Park can be reached by road from Bhopal (170 kms) and Jabalpur (250 kms).



Best time to visit
Satpura National Park, which is located in the Satpura Range of Hoshangabad district in Madhya Pradesh, is open for visitors from 16th October to 30th June. During this time, visitors can enjoy safari rides and boating in Satpura National Park. It is closed for visitors from 1st July till 15th October. Satpura National Park has a total coverage area of about 524 km2.

Opening and closing hours
The Satpura National Park is open from morning 06:30 to 17:00. Visitors can go for safari from 06:30 to 11:00 in the morning, 15:30 to 17:00hrs in the evening and full day safari can be done from 06:30-17:00hrs.

  • Dhupgarh: Dhupgarh is located in Pachmarhi and is the highest point of Madhya Pradesh. It is a popular sunset point.
  • Asirgarh fort: The fort is visited by a number of tourists every year for its architecture. The architecture of the fort is an Islamic, Turkish and Persian combination.
