Bamni Dadar Kanha

History:

Kanha National Park attained the status of a National Park in 1955. The park forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh that was created in 1974 under Project Tiger. During the initial phase, the park comprised an area of 253 sq. km. Later, the Halon valley came to be integrated into the park, resulting in the the total area increasing to 940 sq. kms.

Description:

The Kanha Tiger Reserve is at its scenic best at Bamni Dadar, Kanha. The highest point within the sanctuary, Bamni Dadar offers spectacular views of the western side of the park. The forest is luxuriantly dense here, and a wide variety of animals can be sighted around Bamni Dadar in Kanha Madhya Pradesh. Some of the commonly spotted animals at Bamni Dadar, Kanha include the barking deer, sambar, gaur and four-horned antelope.

Bamni Dadar offers the most awe-inspiring views of the setting sun against the grazing sambars and gaurs. It is the perfect place to enjoy spectacular Kanha sunsets and a balcony view of fold upon fold of dense forests galloping towards the horizon. Bamni Dadar, Kanha is the best place to watch Kanha’s mighty gaur (Indian bison), which at times wreigh more than a ton, and the dhole (Indian wild dog).
