Best Time to Visit Deoria Tal Trek

March to May and October to November is the best time to visit Deoria Tal Trek. In December and January, the region enjoys snowfall and those who wish to experience the breathtaking beauty of the snow-covered surroundings can plan a trek in winter.

Where is Deoria Tal Located?

Encompassed by lush green surroundings and snow-covered mountains, Deoria Tal is nestled at an altitude of 2,438 m above sea level. It is located just 3 km from Mastura and Sari Villages on the Ukhimath Chopta Road. With the backdrop of Chaukhamba Peaks, Deoria Tal is a paradise for nature lovers and trekkers. 

Deoria Tal Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Ukhimath - Sari Village (23 km or via 8 km trek) – Deoriatal (2.5 km trek / around 1 – 1.5 hours)

On the first day of your Deoriatal Winter Trek tour, get transferred from Ukhimath to Sari Village either by road (23 km), or you may indulge in an 8 km trek. On reaching Sari Village (1950 m), you trek to Deoriatal (2438 m). Enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of the pristine Deoriatal Lake. It takes 1 – 1.5 hours to cover a 2.5 km trek. Night stay is scheduled at Deoriatal.

Day 2: Deoriatal – Sari Village – Ukhimath

On day two, from Deoriatal, you trek back to Sari Village (2.5 km trek / 45 – 60 minutes). On entering Sari Village, continue your return trek to Ukhimath. You may also head to Chopta via Mukku bend, Dugalbitta, a trek leading to Tungnath Temple, and Chandrashila Peak, situated at an altitude of 4000 m.

Another option you might opt for is the direct trek from Deoriatal to Chopta, Tungnath Temple, and Chandrashila Peak. You make your way across lush meadows. This route is only familiar to the local people of the place.
